This motorcycle has the very first Rob North Formula 750/Daytona type frame used in its original configuration by Percy Tait at the 1970 Daytona races. It was reconstructed from discarded racing spares into its current configuration for the 1971 24 hour Bol d'Or Endurance Race which was held at the Le Mans circuit in France. Despite the machine breaking a rear chain , the bike took a conclusive victory. The race distance was 616 laps/1663 miles which was completed at an average of 70.52mph in heavy rain for half of the race.
